Pumpkin guts, grumpy faces, crazy boys, and treats all around....that pretty much sums up what this last Thursday was all about for us! The Watson kids were on fall break from school, so we decided to get in the Halloween spirit with some pumpkin carving and carmel apple dipping.
Who would ever think that a bunch of crazy little boys would think that pumpkin guts were soooo scary and disgusting (I'm sure Uncle Ross wasn't helping things). After some stuffing of little hands into nasty pumpkin guts, everyone got over the slimeyness and had a great time. Little Miss Jacque didn't need any convincing, she ran outside and dug in, that's one tough little lady!! Everyone picked out a scary or grumpy pumpkin face and we turned out some pretty cool "jack-o-lanterns"!!
Next came movie and carmel apple time with everyone picking a favorite candy to coat their apple with....the only thing was, the boys didn't seem to want to eat them when they were done building them!! I couldn't believe it, I really think Shauna has somehow brainwashed them into being super healthy kiddos! After a little prompting, they decided that the inside (the apple) was good for their bodies, so it must be ok to eat after all :)
I was told that on the drive home, every one of the boys fell fast asleep...totally worn out from a day of October/Halloween fun! Thanks for coming up and sharing a part of your Fall Break with us here in Park City!!

The Thinker....
You Are An INTP |
The Thinker You are analytical and logical - and on a quest to learn everything you can. Smart and complex, you always love a new intellectual challenge. Your biggest pet peeve is people who slow you down with trivial chit chat. A quiet maverick, you tend to ignore rules and authority whenever you feel like it. In love, you are an easy person to fall for. But not an easy person to stay in love with. Although you are quite flexible, you often come off as aloof or argumentative. At work, you are both a logical and creative thinker. You are great at solving problems. You would make an excellent mathematician, programmer, or professor. How you see yourself: Creative, fair, and tough-minded When other people don't get you, they see you as: arrogant, cold, and robotic |

Yellowstone National Park
Fishing....not my thing! :) Fishing....Ross's new thing (I know...the last thing he needs is another hobby)....the newest hobby is what led us to a few fun filled days in Island Park, Idaho & Yellowstone National Park with my Mom and Rick. We crashed their little party late Monday night, stayed up late chatting about fishing, and with the promise of great fishing in the morning, and a bit of riverside reading time for me, it was off to bed!
I have decided that Rick and Ross are true flyfishing junkies that would stay in the river all day casting and catching if they could. On the other hand, Mom would catch her token fish of the day, take it off the hook HERSELF....eeewwhh...and join me on the beach for reading, sewing, or just girl chat, until the daily bee attack! Oh the bees....I think Mom has a big yellow sign on her that says "I am sweet, sting me!!" I didn't believe her when she said the bees "attack" her, but after the second sting in as many days, I changed my thinking on the "attack" story. Mom finally started seeking refuge from the bees on a rock....in the river!
We did get a chance to venture out of the river and see the rest of the park and of course, look for bears, doesn't everyone see bears in Yellowstone? Or just wildlife in general? There was also the idea that I (the only Yellowstone "rookie") would get to see Old Faithful at the end of our little "bear hunt," if the old geyser was cooperating.
We saw a ton of buffalo, and elk, as well as one of the "recently unendangered" grey wolves, but of course, no matter how hard we looked, our bear hunt was unsuccessful :( At some point Rick turned into and Indy 500 driver, passing everyone he could to get us around the park in a somewhat reasonable amount of time!! With all of the animal road blocks, and slow drivers in general, it is amazing how long it can take. As we snaked our way around on the road, we could see the geyser blow between the trees....just my luck! As we were pulling along side the main lodge, the geyser was just finishing with his show, and blowing off the last of his steam, for the next 1 1/2 hours!
Whether it be for the fun times, great fishing, or just so I can see Old Faithful do his thing....I think we'll be back :)

A few of our favorite neighbors......
Go figure that a few of our favorites would be the local wildlife :) This Mamma moose and her two calves have been frequenting our neighborhood pond off and on over the past few weeks. You always know when they are visiting the local watering hole, due to the traffic on our little street coming to a complete stand still. You find lines of cars parked on both sides of the street, with everyone just watching these beautiful animals. Who ever said Park City doesn't have traffic it just takes a moose or two to stop us all in our tracks! :) Come on by sometime and we will take you on a moose hunt....(for pictures of course).
